A junior lightweight title unification bout between champions Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson is being targeted 🥃for April 30 at the MGM Grand Gard𒀰en Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dan Rafael was the first to report the news of the matchup and confirmed it with Top Rank's Bob Arum, who said the following about the current plans for the 130-pound title unification t꧋itle clash.
“Shakur, I think the fight for him is against Valdez and that would be a corker and I’d love to get that fight done,” Arum said. “That’s what we’re looking to do, yeah. I think before the end of April. Other people in the company are doing the negotiations and I don’t think there will be any roadblocks."
Valdez is the current WBC super featherweight champion and is undefeated as a pro, sitting at 30-0 currently. He's coming off of a unanimous decision win over Robinson Conceição last September in his latest outing. Stevenson on the other hand is♔ the undefeated WBO junior lightweight champion and is 17-💎0 as a pro. The 2016 Olympic silver medalist defeated Jamal Herring via a tenth-round TKO in his last fight.
