Megan Anderson's bid for the UFC women's featherweight championship against Amanda Nunes at UFC 259 might just be the last title fight the division ever sees — but notᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ according to the UFC.
Anderson (10-5) reportedly told her Twitch streaming audience that the U🐟FC is shutting down the women's featherweight 🦄division, per . If that is indeed true, an upcoming fight between Felicia Spencer (8-2) and Danyelle Wolf (1-0) on May 22 will be the last UFC women's featherweight fight in the promotion's history.
The UFC subsequently told 𝔉Marc Raimondi that the promotion does not plan to scrap the division. UFC officials subsequently confirmed to that Anderson is no longer under contract with the company.

Anderson also mentioned during he൲r live stream that she has a torn ligament in her elbow. She will be getting an MRI later this week. As for her fight future, the Australian native has not put much thought into her next steps.
Anderson fought Nunes (21-4) for the U💧FC women's featherweight title at UFC 259 on Saturday, March 9. Nunes successfully retained her title🅷 with a touch over two minutes into the fight.
