Khabib Nurmagomedov may have retired from MMA that does not mean he is turning his back ꦰon the sport.

The unbeaten UFC lightweight champion is working diligently to get MMA into the Olympics b🐼y 2028. Nurmagomedov made his intentions clear at a recent press conference in Moscow, Rus💃sia.

“The inclusion of MMA in the Olympics is one of my main tasks for the next couple of years” Nurmagomedov said “We are already working in this direction. In the near future, I will have many meetings, including with the President of the Olympic committee.”

Nurmagomedov beli𒆙eves the Olympic committee will have an issue with the sport's violence.

“The only question is the cruelty of the sport; they do not want a lot of blood.” he continued. "In terms of recognition, sponsorship, in terms of interest for television, MMA, I think that it will be on par with football and athletics in interest.”

While Nurmagomedov continues to pursue Olympics recognition and his newly purchased Eagle Fighting Championships, UFC president Dana White remains steadfast in his belief that Nurmagomedov will fight again.
