Gillian Robertson opened up the Fox Sports 1 portion of the preliminary card for UFC Fight Night Liverpool, defeating Molly McCann by second round submission.

There was a lot of criticism against referee Neil Hall for a perceived late stoppage in the fight after McCann passed out in Robertson’s rear naked choke and Robertson agrees w🗹ith the criticism.

“I definitely thought it was late, too,” Robertson said after the event. “I felt her go out. Then my coach, I heard him screaming, ‘She’s out! She’s out!’ Then a couple more seconds later the ref finally came in. So I definitely thought it was a little bit late.”

Hall, who officiated the action, has s🐓pent over a decade officiating bout in many forms of combat sports.

Despite the perceived late stoppage, 🅰one thing Robertson is excited about is that she executed the game plan, albeit later than expected.

“I thought I would be able to get the finish sooner, but she had a lot more to offer than I thought,” Robertson said. “Obviously anything can happen when you go in there. But I knew my game plan, I knew what I needed to do when I went in there and executed it.”

Robertson is♌ now 2-0-0 under the UFC banner and she has picked up both of those victories b𓃲y submission.
