UFC President Dana White has a lཧong history in boxing, something he was taking part in before he became a part of the UFC all those years ago. However, in recent months, he has been barraged with questions from reporters about a potential boxing superfight between boxing great Floyd Mayweather and current UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.
The talk surrounding the potential fight has sꦰince simmered and has practically disappeared altogether, but that did not stop the UFC President from talking to TMZ about the situation, the transcript of the interview was provided by .
TMZ: "They've been talking a lot about this McGregor/Mayweather th🗹ing. Do you still think it's going to happen?"
White: "No. I never thought it was going to happen."
TMZ: "You never thought it was going to happen?"
White: "No. Two totally different sports!"
TMZ: "Because McGregor and Mayweather seem to wa🤪nt to make it happen, badly."
White: "They seem to want the money, probably! But I don't know how bad they actually want to make that a reality. Listen, Conor's under contract with me. We can start with kicks, punches, and e꧋lbows."
TMZ: "So𝔍 if there is going to be a fight, Mayweather's got to up his MMA game? He's gotta learn kicks, punches..."
White: "That's right. Kicks, punches, and elbows. He doesn't have to learn to do anyth🥀ing, but he's going to get kicked and elbowed."
It's highly unlikely that May🌊weather would takeಌ an MMA fight, and McGregor has been vocal about the financial figures being too far apart. Either way, White says that any talks of such a thing were strictly promotional.
