Former pro wrestler turned professional MMA fighter CM Punk suffered a unanimous decision loss to Mike Jackson at UFC 225.
UFC President Dana White was in attendance at the event and he says Punk’s🐼 time in the promotion may be coming to an end.
“No, it should be a wrap,” White said at the UFC 225 post-fight press conference. “The guy’s 39 years old. We gave him two shots, and he had a lot of heart tonight, and I think he should call it a wrap.”
Punk is now 0-2-0 as a professional fighter, with his other loss coming via first round submission to Mickey Gall at UFC 203.
Just because Punk’s time in the UFC may be coming to a close doesn’t mean his professional MMA career has to because the fighter wou⛎ld be free to negotiate with any promotion of the Chicago native’s choosing.
A short time a🐻fter the fight, a thankful Punk would post the following on Twitter:
You win some, you lose some! I'm 1-1 this week and I'll take it! Thanks to my team, my family, my friends, and THE FANS! Wouldn't be here without any ofও you. Respect to , thanks for the fight! You only live once, and... I'M ALIVE!
