UFC 275 Highlights: Jiří Procházka Submits Glover Teixeira To Top One Of The Best Cards In UFC History

UFC 275 will go down as one of the best cards in the history of the company. Not only did the card featured five knockouts, three of which will be featured on end of year lists for Knockout of the Year. On top of that, the card was headlined by an instant classic between Jiří Procházka and G☂lover Teixeira. Truly incredible stuff.

After an all-time war, Jiří Procházka is your new light heavyweight champion, after getting a buzzer beating submission finish over reigning champion Glover Teixeira. The fight was an instant classic, and will go down as one of the greatest title fights of all-time. Teixeira was likely ahead going🍃 into the 5th, potentially even by two points, so the finish was needed by Procházka, and he got it. Utterly incredible stuff, that needs to be seen in its entirety.

Valentina Shevchenko def. Taila Santos via Split Decision (49-46, 48-47, 47-48)

In her toughest title defense to date, Valentina Shevchenko was pushed to the limit by Taila Santos. Santos dominated the first half of the fight, before being rocked by a ꦓheadbutt which damaged 𓄧her right eye. Shevchenko took over from there, but the score cards are very questionable, especially the 49-46, Santos definitely won the first two rounds. Expect to see a rematch sooner rather than later. It wa an excellent fight.

Weili Zhang def. Joanna Jędrzejczyk via KO (Spinning Backfist) (Rd. 2 2:28)

In a rematch of one of the greatest fi﷽ghಞts in UFC history, Weili Zhang put an exclamation point on the end of the rivalry with a devastating spinning backfist knockout, that earned her a title shot against Carla Esparza, while sending Joanna Jędrzejczyk into retirement. The first round of this fight was absolutely incredible, and a whirlwind of offense from both women, before the highlight-reel finish in the second round. This fight was awesome, and highly worth seeking out if you missed it.

Jake Matthews def. Andre Fialho via KO (Punches) (Rd. 2 2:24)

In a career performance, Jake Matthews tuned up Andre Fialho and landed a series of heavy blows, which finally got the finish midway through the second round. Its truly astounding that Fi💛alho was still on his feet at the time, since Matthews essentially couldn't miss. Great nig♎ht for Matthews that closes out an excellent night for the Australians on the card.

Jack Della Maddalena def. Ramazan Emeev via TKO (Body Shot) (Rd. 1 2:32)

Jack Della Maddalena continues his hot streak upon entering the UFC by surviving a very threatening submission attempt from Ramazan Emeev bef💯ore ending the fight later in the first round via a lethal series of body strikes. Emeev was a very legitimate test for Della Maddalena, and he's answered 🀅alot of questions with this fight.

Josh Culibao def. Seung Woo Choi via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

In the early favourite for Fight of the Night, Josh Culibao showed massive improvements and took the first two rounds with incredibly slick striking that led to a pair of knockdowns. Seung Woo Choi showed incredible toughness to not get finished in the early rounds, and rallied in the third to spend an extended period of time on Culibao's back, 💧but it wasn't en♏ough to get a finish.

Maheshate def. Steve Garcia via Knockout (Rd. 1 1:14)

In his UFC debut, Maheshate scored a very sweet walkoff KO on a short pull counter against Steve Garcia. A ver💙y exciting arrival for a young Chinese 🔯prospect who may be one to watch going forward.

Brendan Allen def. Jacob Malkoun via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

In a wrestling-heavy bout, Brendan Allen emerged victorious over Jacob Mal▨koun. Despite being massively outsized, Malkoun was relentless in trying to get the fight to the ground, while Allen had the advantage when the fight wa on the feet. Close decision that could've gone either way.

Kang Kyung-Ho def. Danaa Batgerel via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

In a tight decision win, Kang Kyung-Ho edged out Danaa Batgerel. Both men landed an abundance of leg kick🅺s, and Batgerel's face 💮was wearing an immense amount of damage, that probably made the fight look like a wider win for Kang than it actually was.

Silvana Gomez Juarez def. Liang Na via Knockout (Punches) (Rd. 1 1:27)

Silvana Gomez Juarez crushed Liang Na with a massive ✤overhand right, and followed up with a pin point 1-2 combination to get the finish. An absolutely massive knockout, especially for th💖e women's divisions. Great win for Gomez Juarez

Joselyne Edwards def. Ramona Pascual via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

In a fairly uninspir🐻ing fight, Joselyne Edwards got a decision that wa⛎s closer than it appeared on the scorecards. Edwards had more activity and was able to keep the fight on the feet unlike her recent bouts, however Pascual landed some massive body shots that doubled over Edwards in the first round.
