The Conor McGregor vs. Floℱyd Mayweather saga continues after Mayweather wouldn't close the door on the potential fight.
The former mulౠti-time boxing world champion spoke to TMZ, and said that he tried to make the crossover dream fight happen, but to no avail. The two sides had been engaged in a feud in regards to the hypothetical fight, with Mayweather going as far as posting a fake advertising poster on social media several months back.
"I 🌼think that the fight is very♏ difficult to make," Mayweather said. "I tried to make the fight before, it didn't happen, but you live and you learn."
Mayweather was also asked if McGregor had pic🔯ked up anything from him, more specifically on self-promotion and hyping up a big fight.
"If he did steal my blueprint then, I think it's a good thing," Mayweather said. "I think he's a hell of a fighter, he can fight. He can box real good. As far as stand up, he's very good at standing up fighti🌜ng. Everyone is asking me, 'are we going to fight?' I just don't know."
McGregor is going to be busy for the next couple of 🐭months as he prepares for his historic main event match against Eddie Alvarez for Alvarez's UFC Lightweight title at UFC 205 in Maౠdison Square Garden. McGregor has a chance to become the first UFC fighter to ever hold two different weight belts at the same time.
Mayweather, despite rumors all throughout 2016 saying that he would come back from retirement to fight Manny Pacquiao a second time, is currently enjoying his retirement. The 39-year-old had not fought since September 2015 in a win against Andre Berto ⛄in a lackluster bout.
