Dana White Believes Anderson Silva Should Retire

MMA

UFC Middleweight Anderson Silva recently made a demand of the UFC, eithešŸŒ r let him face Yoel Romero for an interim middleweight title or heā€™ll retiršŸŽ€e.

Dana White, the UFC Presāœ±ident, has said that Silva wonā€™t be getting that title shot and he should probably retire.

ā€œEvery time for the last however many years, dealing with Anderson is always interesting,ā€ White said to . ā€œObviously, he wants an interim title ā€“ obviously, weā€™re not going to do an interim title. Heā€™s definitely coming out publicly (with his demands). You know my philosophy on that: If you ever say the ā€˜Rā€™ word, you should probably do it, anyway. If youā€™re considering retirement, you should probably do it.ā€

It should be noted that Silva has only won just one of his last five fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Derek Brunson at UFC 208. A fight against Nate Diaz was later overturned to a no contest aftešŸ§ør a failed drug test.

White also believes that Silva is mad that he isnā€™t fighting Kelvin GastelumšŸ§œ at UFC 212, but White says that it was USADAā€™s call, noį€£t the UFCā€™s.

ā€œWe will not do an interim title. No. It wonā€™t happen,ā€ White said. ā€œBispingā€™s ready, willing and able to fight the actual No. 1 contender, who is Yoel Romero. Anderson Silvaā€™s ranked No. 7 right now. ā€¦ Andersonā€™s mad. I didnā€™t pull Kelvin Gastelum out. Kelvin Gastelum smoked weed, and now he got busted, and weā€™ve done everything we could to make another fight for Anderson. So itā€™s nothing we did.ā€

Silva hasnā€™t responded tź¦‡o the comments from White, but the threat of ā™Šretirement now looms over the former UFC Middleweight Champion.
